Public Eye News is an all student produced afternoon news program. From directing, to behind the scenes, to on-air talent, PEN provides students with real-world experience.
Public Eye News gives students a chance to be fully immersed in a live news environment, at a real operating television station. WNMU-TV 13 generously hand their studio over to Public Eye News every weekday afternoon. This opportunity, rare among any university, is truly an advantage for anyone in the communications field. For those entering the broadcasting arena, PEN offers much sought after experience in a real broadcast environment. Every member is able to gain experience in each position, offering valuable perspective about every part of the production.
Public Eye News isn't just for broadcasting students. PEN is open to any NMU student. For example, Public Relations and Speech Communications majors get in front of the camera to improve their communications skills. Want to learn how to operate a broadcast camera? Or be a weather person? Whatever your interest, we welcome you to the team!
